Privacy Policy

OPR is committed to protecting the privacy of all our clients and subscribers and those people who visit our website. In order to ensure we are consistent in this approach, OPR has adopted a Privacy policy to comply with the National Privacy Principles contained within the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000.

OPR is a property inspection company that specialises in pre-purchase inspection reports and takes its responsibilities under the Privacy Act very seriously. This policy is written to ensure we respect and keep safe all the personal information you may provide to OPR in any transaction you have with us.

Collection of information

We only collect information from you that is necessary for what we do. For example, we will ask you for your name, address, personal contact details and property requirements so we can ensure we provide a quality service. We may use the information you provide us to help improve the services we offer and to measure the interest shown in our services.

OPR undertakes to only collect information by lawful and fair means. This means we will never be unreasonably intrusive. OPR monitors OPR’s website and its usage. This enables us to make improvements to our site and provide better on-line services to our clients and subscribers.

OPR provides all clients and subscribers the opportunity to "opt-out" of receiving promotional material either electronically or in hard copy. "Opt-out" forms will be included on all subscription forms.

Use and disclosure

OPR does not provide any other commercial organisation personal details on any client or subscriber, except to the extent it is necessary for the purpose of conducting an inspection, without the written instructions from the client or subscriber to do so.

Data quality

OPR endeavours to ensure all data collected is accurate and well maintained. All computer access is password controlled and OPR has a policy to deal with security of information to ensure maximum protection of our client or subscriber’s personal details.

Openness

Any client or subscriber who has furnished personal details to OPR will have the right to seek out the information we hold on them. OPR undertakes to respond to any client or subscriber enquiry regarding what information we hold, how we use it and where or how it is disclosed.

Access and correction

Anyone who has provided personal information to OPR may have access to this information and issue corrections if necessary. OPR undertakes to ensure any amendments to information are made in a timely.

In most cases, you will be asked to verify your identity prior to personal information being disclosed. This ensures information is only provided to the correct person and the privacy of others is not undermined. All requests for information will be dealt with in a confidential manner and requests for access will in no way effect any commercial arrangements that may be in place between yourself and OPR.

Anonymity

Wherever practicable, OPR will allow any individual to seek out and obtain information in a confidential manner and without the need to identify himself or herself.

Privacy complaint

Our aim is to ensure we treat all personal information with respect and care. However, should you have a complaint that relates to how we have collected or used the information you have provided on yourself, OPR would like the opportunity to remedy the problem.

OPR has a Complaint and Compliments register for this purpose, and all privacy complaints will be dealt with in a timely manner. Please send your communication to the Business Manager, OPR, P.O. In the unlikely event the matter cannot be resolved between OPR and an individual, then the matter can be referred to the Office of the Federal Privacy Commissioner.
